Halloween Decortation Projects

Even though Halloween is just a few short days away, I thought its better late than never to post pictures of my latest projects.

Fall Wreath

This turned out much better that I anticipated.  I used acorns from my yard, I just washed them and then sprayed them with some clear spray paint.  I made the welcome sign with stamps and scrapbook paper and then tied it on with some twine.  Cute!

Trick or Treat sign

Here's what you need: a cute frame, poster board, burlap, and candy corn.
cut the poster board to fit your frame and then cover the poster board with burlap. Use hot glue to attach the burlap to the sides of the poster-board.
Once its covered, put it into your frame.
Here is what it looks like!
Then spell out your saying with the candy corn, you have to fiddle with it, to get it to look just so!  Then one at a time, glue the candy corn in place.
I made the "or" out of scrapbook paper and stickers, and then made a few bows for embellishments.  Pretty cute!

She's a bad egg.

I just might start drinking.  All due to my sweet precious princess daughter.  Here's a list of just some of the fun things she did this week.

-got into an open jar of mod podge
-got into the draining bathtub with her pajamas on
-repeatedly opened the DVD player as her brothers tried to watch a movie
-opened a present that I had just gotten ready for a birthday party and threw it all over our porch
-played in the toilet, MANY times, because her siblings keep leaving the seat up and the door open
-pulled gross stuff out of the trash can
-lost thousands of shoes
-gotten into my purse and lost more things than I can count
-stuck her hand in her diaper and got poop all over it (this was super fun)
-ate old graham crackers that were on the ground outside
-marked her arms completely solid with markers

I really could list so much more, but I think you all get the point.  What am I going to do with this girl?  She is going to be the death of me.  Its a good thing she is cute.

Simply Amazing

This Saturday my frugal friend Jean called me and said that I had to go with her to HyVee for some awesome deals.  I said ok, because she is always very convincing!  Those of you who follow me on Facebook already know about this, but I seriously can't stop talking about it, its just that good!
This is just a "few" of the things I bought.  Chad and I went back the next day.  We did not spend more than $10 for - 52 boxes of cereal, 2 whole chickens, milk, cake mix, stuffed ravioli, flour, potatoes, toilet paper, cream of chicken soup, rolls, and gravy mix.  For those of you in the Topeka area, you need to go to HyVee, this sale is over tomorrow!  God is SO GOOD, and I am very blessed to have such a savy shopping friend!

My latest project

So, I had all these projects that I wanted to complete this summer and this was the ONLY ONE I finished.  So sad.  Anyway, here it is.

My husband got this chair for free from our neighbor.  I love when things are free!

I just love how the color matches my van!  This chair was super ugly, but after a few coats of spray paint, some scrapbook paper and lots and lots of Mod Podge.......
Isn't she a beauty?  I am so happy with the results and it cost me a whopping $0.00!!  I used things I already had to get her into shape, what a deal!

Stress and Peach Cobbler

I am stressed out, way stressed out.  I just polished off the rest of the peach cobbler that I made the other night.  It was more than one portion.  What is stressing me out.

1. My daughter was drinking out of the toilet yesterday.
2. At Toys R Us my 8 year old son tipped the shopping cart over with his baby sister inside. All involved are ok.  People stared.  It was great.
3. My 3 year old refuses to potty train.
4. My 20 month old wants to potty train but does not want to be weaned.
5. My 8 year old will be seeing a pediatric cardiologist this Thursday and a neurologist next Thursday.

Stress, stress, stress, and we are out of peach cobbler.

What a weekend!

This past weekend was packed full.  We had lots and lots of fireworks, food, swimming, parade watching and to end it all we saw Toy Story 3 and I cried like a baby!
On Friday we invited our sweet neighbors over to do some small fireworks.

Noah and Brock lighting firecrackers.
Ella and Violet playing with poppers.
Benjamin lighting his tank!
We started the 4th off with our local parade.  I made the boys matching shirts!
I also HAD to make Ella some super cute new bows!
Benjamin and his sweet friend Addison!
The fam!
After the parade it rained all day, but this beautiful rainbow came out, just in time for us to start blowing more stuff up!

God gave us a beautiful sky, right before it got dark.  It was such a great day!

Benjamin Bear is 3!!!!

My sweet Benjamin is 3 years old, I can hardly believe it.  May 30th came on a Sunday this year, so we just had Aunt Libby, Uncle Matt and cousins Makayla and Walker over for dinner.  We had planned on letting all the kids swim and do the slip and slide but a huge thunderstorm foiled our plans!

Benjamin had so much fun with the sprinkler!
The slip n' slide was a little harder for him to figure out, he just kinda hopped down it on his knees.
Noah on the other hand had no problem with it!

After a yummy dinner of hamburgers and brauts(which I had to grill in the rain!) we had Benjamin's favorite desert, chocolate chip bundt cake.
Every three year old should have chocolate chip bundt cake, its the bomb!
Holy bundt cake batman, what happened to her?

No 3 year birthday is complete without playing superhero dress up.  Uh, Spidey?  I think you might need your suit tailored!

Benjamin, I love you sweet boy.  You make me belly laugh every day, you make everyone smile and you are just about the cutest thing ever.  I am so blessed to be your momma.  Happy Birthday Benjamin Bear!

Super Mom

Its official, I should win mother of the year.  Not so much.  Today for breakfast Benjamin had fruit treats and chocolate milk for breakfast, Ella had popcorn puffy cheetos, and I had chocolate cake.  At least Noah had cheerios, one out of four isn't bad right?  I used to scoff at those people who let their kids have ice cream for breakfast and vowed that would never be me.  My apologies for the judgment people.  Seriously folks, I am exhausted and there is no food in our house, so off to the store I go.  With 3 kids in tow, no less.  Pray for me people, pray hard.

No good, very bad day

Today has not been a good day.  I am tired, grumpy, frustrated and need a shower.  I do not like my hair, it needs to be cut, I haven't had a hair cut in over a year!  I do not like my clothes, nothing fits.  My house is a mess and my 2 year old threw a HUGE fit today at the the grocery store.  My calendar is totally over scheduled, my husband and I never get any time alone.  There is no money in the bank account and lots of month left.    Nothing seems to be going right and I just want to cry, and as I was just writing this, the batteries in my keyboard went dead!  Are you flippin kidding me??  Why am I blogging about this, just being real folks.  But God is bigger than all of this, He is enough.

He is all I need.
He is all I need.
He is all I need.

Maybe if I keep repeating it, it will sink in, and I can get out of this horrible funk.

Road Trip

At the beginning of the month we decided to take a road trip to KC just for fun.  February was a brutal month for us, we went through some serious sickness  and we ALL were desperately needing some fun in our lives!  We got the kids up that morning, let Noah skip school and headed out but did not tell them where we were going.  Our first stop was Crown Center and we went to this great restaurant called Fritz's.   This place is the coolest!  Trains deliver you your food on tracks that run all over the restaurant.  Benjamin was in heaven!
It was a great lunch and the kids all had a wonderful time!

Next, we walked around Crown Center and then drove down to City Market, it was a gorgeous day and so nice to be outside!

A really big paddle wheel.

The Melting Pot.  Where Chad proposed to me.  Its been 5 years and 2 kids later.

Ella at Brio on the Plaza.  They give the kids pizza dough to shape and then they bake it, Ella's never made it into the oven.  Apparently we starve her.

Benjamin and Noah with their dough.

All in all, it was a fantastic day.  I wish we could do it more often!

Snow forts are a lot of work.

Yesterday I helped my son build a snow fort.  Scratch that.  Yesterday I built a snow fort while my son and his friend watched, and my hubby took pics.

It was actually a lot of fun and really good exercise.  The boys had fun after it was all done.  Even though Benjamin wasn't out there for any of the building, every time he sees it he says, "Look mama, there's MY snow port!"  My kids crack me up!

By the way, I am done with winter.  Enough is enough, we've sledded, built snow men, snow forts, had plenty of snow ball fights.  We're good.  Bring on the sunshine.  Mother Nature, are you listening????
