A Thousand Words Thursday

Cheaper Than Therapy

Benjamin LOVES the vacuum. Loves. It. He wants to help me vacuum and clean all the time. And I ain't complaining about that! It is so stinkin' cute when he gets his vacuum out whenever I am vacuuming with the big one. He would vacuum for hours if we'd let him!

Dove Chocolates

You know what I think would be a fun job? The person who writes and selects the quotes inside the Dove Chocolate wrappers. Here are a few for example.

"Seek out small indulgences for yourself"

"Count your blessings not your worries"

"Think of everyday as a Sunday"

and my all time favorite.......

"Go ahead, have another :)"

Ok, so now you know I consumed 4 Dove chocolates, and I am supposed to be dieting, but let me just say it has been a chocolate consuming kind of day.

Its been one of those days where I question my mothering skills. One of those days where I question why I don't drink. One of those days where I fail my diet miserably.

I think I will have another. Tomorrow is a new day.

Lovin the Snuggie

Here's Noah all snuggled up sick in MY snuggie. The very day that he was sick I won a handmade kid's snuggie from Sarah at Clover Lane. Go check out her blog, it is great and she is hilarious! She also made Noah's year, because he loves his very OWN snuggie like it was a puppy. He eats his cereal every morning all wrapped up in it. One thing I love most about this boy is how easy he is to please, just a little thing like a fuzzy blanket with sleeves makes him oh so happy.

Bleeeehhhhhh

That is how I am feeling, bleh. I had such grand plans for this weekend, I was going to be spending it painting my dining room, basking in all its beautiful Tobacco Road glory. That's the name of the paint in case you were wondering. Instead I have been in bed or on the couch most of the weekend, I am sick and feel like poo. I have been blowing my nose so much that it just might fall off and there are tiny tissue carcasses strewn all over my house. To make matters worse, my little Benjamin and Ella are sick as well. Sick mommy, sick kids, grumpy Hubs, makes for a crappy weekend! So, all of you out there who are prayin' people, say a little prayer for us! We need to get healthy soon!

My cup runneth over.......

The Graber Kids - Dad, Chad, Libby, Lucas, Josh, and Micah

In the movie Hope Floats, the grandmother is tucking in her granddaughter, and telling her how much she loves her. She looks down at the little girl, Bernice, (i love that name!) and she says "my cup runneth over...." That is how I feel whenever I am with my husbands family. My cup is to the brim and running all over the place with love for them.

This week my brother in law, Micah and his wife Denise (you can find them here) were visiting from Boston so we all got together. It was so much fun! This family is so full of love and grace for each other. Five years ago, Lucy, my husband's mom, went home to be with the Lord, although I never met her, I feel like I know her, because her faith, loving kindness, and generosity is reflected in each of her children. Jeb, my father in law, is a quiet, intellectual, gracious man, he quietly sits at our get togethers enjoying having all of his children around him, and his 13, yes I said 13, grandchildren. We soon will be adding to that number, Micah and Denise are expecting, and my nephew Laken, will be born in a few months!

My husband is the oldest, then Libby, Lucas, Josh, and the baby Micah. Through out the past year or so, I have become very close to Libby, she is the best sister in law any one can have. Libby is one of the most generous people I know, she has helped me in so many ways, I will never be able to say thank you enough!

Growing up, I was never close to my brother, he is 8 years older than me and never interested in me much. I yearned for siblings, someone to play with, hang out with, just to be silly with. I am so glad that God has blessed me with the Grabers. They are awesome!

Grandpa Graber and all the kiddos.

I do have to share one last thing. We were at Libby's having lunch, when Libby mentioned her pretty table cloth that Dad had bought her in Greece. Dad said "I bought it by the Parthenon" Micah says, "The Parthenon? Is that a Greek unit of measure?" In which Dad responds "No its a big building, I bought it in a shop, NEXT to the Parthenon." Much gufawing followed! We all laughed until we were crying. So when buying fabric in Greece, ask for 2 to 3 parthenons and see where that gets ya! Sorry Micah, but it was too funny not to share!Lunch at Libby's - See the table cloth?

February - 2009 - "Sleeping baby"

My brother- in-law and his wife are visiting this week from Boston. Yesterday, Benjamin, Ella, and I went to my sister-in-laws to have lunch with them. Benjamin spent the entire time playing with his cousin Walker, and it completely tuckered him out! He was out before we even hit the freeway. What a sweet pumpkin he is!

Just what I needed.

I have not been having a very good week. Ella has not been sleeping well, so I have been running on little to no sleep everyday, which is not fun. Being tired has put me in a real funk. Today Chad came home from lunch and brought me these.
Nothing cheers me up more than surprises! This picture does not do them justice, they are so pretty sitting in the sunshine on my dining room table. I am still tired, but a lot less funky! Thanks babe, you are the best!

A star is born.......

Did you know that Dr. Clyde Tombaugh, the man who discovered Pluto, was from Burdet, Kansas? I didn't either until 3 weeks ago when we found out that Noah was going to be playing him in his school play. It was a play about famous Kansans, and my Noah was the doc, and he was so stinkin cute!! Last year when he was in Kindergarten his class did a play on the book the Kissing Hand, and Noah was a fox, which was equally cute, but once on stage my son looked like he would rather have his kidneys removed than be in a play. Once it was his turn to say his lines, I actually thought he was going to pass out! This year was a whole new story! He was confident, calm, and FANTASTIC! I am so proud of my sweet boy.
